When to engage a Therapist?

Therapy aims to address psychological issues, emotional distress, and mental health concerns. It often involves exploring past experiences, traumas, and deep-rooted emotions to promote healing and personal growth. Therapy sessions can also be future focussed, helping you identify personal aims and provide support on the way to reaching them.

Therapy is provided by licensed therapists or counsellors and utilises evidence-based techniques to help people better manage their mental health and emotions.

When to engage a Coach?

Coaching, on the other hand, is a goal-oriented approach focused on enhancing performance, developing skills, and achieving specific objectives. Coaches provide support, guidance, and accountability to help individuals identify strengths, set actionable goals, create strategies, and overcome obstacles.

Coaching is commonly sought by individuals who desire improvement in specific areas of their lives.

HOW TO BOOK A SESSION...

Please follow these steps to make a booking with a therapist or coach:

1 -  Identify whether you'd like to speak to a therapist or coach - browse the profiles below, read the bios and areas of expertise for each of our therapists and coaches, or watch the video introduction to ascertain who will be the best fit. You have 6 credits available to exchange for therapy and coaching sessions. Please note, a 50 minute therapy session is 1 credit, a 30 minute coaching session is 1 credit, and a 60 minute coaching session is 2 credits.

2 - Once you have browsed the profiles and watch the video introductions for our therapists and coaches, you can check their availability and book using each therapist's or coach's availability button.

3 - If you book using your work email address, please be aware that the calendar invites for your sessions are automatically generated and default to a public setting. This means that you will have to manually change the event privacy setting to PRIVATE or use your PERSONAL email address when booking sessions.

I'm an MBACP Registered Person-Centred Therapist with an MA in Clinical Counselling, and a professional background in STEM and Financial Services. I work with clients using the ‘person-centred’ approach. This means that the work we do together will be tailored very specifically to your needs as an individual, balancing cognitive and emotional exploration in order to address the challenges you are facing.

 We will collaborate to identify the areas of your life that are affecting your wellbeing and explore and reflect on these challenges together. The aim is to work towards increased self-awareness and self-acceptance, which in turn helps develop confidence and trust in oneself so that future challenges are easier to manage.

I’m Paul. It’s good to meet you. When you decide to start therapy with me, we’ll spend the first session exploring what’s brought you to look for therapy right now and what we can do together about this issue. I have a warm, approachable and compassionate style. 

I’ll ask some questions about your life right now and some about what it has been like in the past. From there we’ll explore the issues you’re currently experiencing and I will often try to integrate some helpful tools or tips that can help make life feel a little bit easier.

By sharing your feelings, experiences and exploring relationships both past and present, you can understand how they impact your life, and work toward finding your own solutions to move forward.

He also has a background in music performance and education and has helped people with performance-related anxiety, confidence and communication skills. He has done further professional development in creative interventions in counselling, the impact of the LGBTQ+ experience on mental health, the role of gender in mental health and supporting men’s mental health.

Performance, Nutrition and Health Coach, Vanessa Sturman is available for bespoke 1-to-1 nutrition coaching, and the process always begins with a 'Power Hour' session.

This session is all about making simple, impactful changes to your eating habits. This includes:

  • - Pre-analysis of your food - you send Vanessa images of your food and fill out a questionnaire in advance so she can start planning (this is not about judging your food or cutting anything out, but about finding bespoke changes that have a big impact for YOU) 
    - Clarity on some of your biggest barriers - and how to overcome them - to get the health, performance and weight management you want and need 
    - A bespoke action plan that’s truly sustainable and works within your life, for lasting results
    - Vanessa’s years of experience, expertise and ability to get people excellent results

    The Power Hour session costs 2 credits and needs to be booked at least one week in advance. Once you have booked, you will receive an email with additional information to help you prepare to get the most out of your Power Hour session with Vanessa.

    30 Minute Check-Ins are available for those who have previously completed the 'Power Hour' Session.

FAQs

What IS my THERAPY AND COACHING ALLOWANCE?

You are entitled to 6 free therapy and coaching sessions per calendar year.

Can I book therapy AND coaching sessions?

You can use your credits against therapy, coaching or a mix of both. We would recommend you take a look at the section above that explains the difference between each, so that you get the best out of your 6 free credits.

How long do the sessions take?

Therapy sessions last 50 minutes, and coaching sessions last 30 minutes. If you would like a 60 minute coaching session, which is advised for the first session with a new coach, you can book two 30 minute slots back to back.

HOW DO I MAKE A BOOKING?

You can access a session with one of the therapists or coaches by clicking the ‘See Availability’ button under your chosen therapist or coach. You can watch a video and read their bio to find out the ways they might be able to support you.

What happens once I use all my credits but want more sessions?

If you need or want more than 6 sessions, you can purchase these yourself at £75 per session.

Your therapist or coach will send you an invoice directly after each session/at the end of each month (depending how long you work together for and the agreement that you have)

What happens IF I CANCEL A SESSION?

You have to provide 48 hours notice if you want to cancel or rearrange your session, or your session will be deducted from your allowance.

ARE MY SESSIONS confidential?

Therapists are obliged to protect confidentiality and will only ever reach out to Capital on Tap if they feel that someone is at risk of hurting themselves or others - this will only ever be to the People Team.

When are the therapists OR COACHES available?

Although this is a corporate coaching and therapy service, the team is not just available during traditional working hours (9-5). In order to work around your schedules, therapists and coaches have very flexible availability outside normal working hours as well. Find out by looking at their individual availability.
