At That Day, we understand that fostering diversity and inclusion isn't just a moral imperative - it’s a business one. Research shows that companies with diverse and inclusive teams in the UK are more likely to innovate and outperform competitors. For example, diverse companies are 33% more likely to achieve better financial results.

With this in mind, we are thrilled this National Inclusion Week to announce the launch of our Culture Shift Training Programme. A comprehensive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training programme designed to help UK businesses create lasting, meaningful change. Led by Reeha Alder, an ex-Global People Director and qualified coach, the programme addresses core areas such as unconscious bias, inclusive hiring, and active allyship.

"Reeha was just brilliant. Engaging, kind, helpful… I would sign myself up for any of her workshops, because I feel like she will always provide useful information."

What Does Our Culture Shift Training Programme Cover?

The Culture Shift Training Programme includes several key modules:

  • Intro to DEI: A foundation in understanding DEI, bias, microaggressions, and inclusive language.
  • Inclusive Hiring: Training to widen talent pools and reduce bias in recruitment processes, helping businesses tap into more diverse candidates.
  • Inclusive Cultures: Building a sense of belonging through inclusive behaviors, which fosters collaboration and drives team innovation.
  • Allyship: Practical strategies for becoming an active ally, with tools to address privilege and promote inclusivity.

'Made quite big heavy topics that could be intimidating, into digestible and approachable learning."

Our Training Process: From Vision to Action

Our approach to DEI training is structured around three key phases—'Some Day,' 'That Day,' and 'Every Day'—to ensure that our programs drive real, lasting change.

In the 'Some Day' Vision phase, we collaborate closely with our clients to define the desired outcomes of the training. We explore both immediate goals and long-term aspirations, identifying the company changes they wish to see in the future. This sets a clear direction for the training journey.

During the 'That Day' Training, we deliver engaging and impactful sessions that can be tailored as half or full-day workshops. Each module is carefully selected to align with the client’s 'Some Day' vision, breaking down complex topics into manageable, relatable chunks. Our interactive approach ensures high engagement, and we measure the impact through post-training surveys to track progress.

Finally, in the 'Every Day' Embedding phase, we help clients turn insights into action. We support teams and leaders in developing new habits and implementing changes through email nudges, accountability check-ins, and access to a comprehensive resource library. This ongoing support ensures that DEI principles are not just learned but are lived every day, fostering a culture of inclusion that evolves with the organisation.

In the UK, nearly half of employees (47%) have never been managed by someone from a minority background . This statistic underscores the importance of representation and why DEI initiatives are essential to improving leadership diversity and workplace equity.

Additional Support for a Truly Inclusive Workplace

In addition to our core training modules, we offer personalised coaching sessions designed to help teams navigate specific challenges that may arise in the workplace. These sessions include expert guidance on addressing incidents like microaggressions, handling unconscious bias in decision-making, and creating inclusive communication strategies. These one-on-one or group coaching sessions provide real-time support, helping employees develop the skills to respond confidently and appropriately to sensitive situations.

For organisations looking to embed DEI principles even further into their culture, we also offer company-wide talks. These talks cover a range of essential topics such as Celebrating Neurodiversity, LGBTQ+ Awareness Training, and Building a Sense of Belonging. Additionally, we provide sessions on Mental Health Awareness, helping businesses create a holistic approach to employee wellbeing.

These optional coaching and talks are designed to reinforce the core programme outcomes, providing ongoing support and helping businesses maintain an inclusive and equitable workplace culture.
